What should I consider when buying lenses ?
Choosing the correct type of lens for your glasses is an important factor in the final weight and overall look of the glasses.
Optical Web only sells high quality plastic lenses. One main advantage of plastic over glass is that it is much lighter and more comfortable to wear. Glass lenses are also more likely to shatter, which means plastic is a far safer option.
The surface of plastic lenses is softer than glass lenses. Scratches can, therefore, be a problem. But all lenses from Optical Web can made with a hardening, scratch-resistant coating, to minimise surface damage.
Plus, Optical Web lenses can made with anti-reflective and easy-clean coatings. Don't let bright sunlight, or water and dirt, hold you back.
Please pay particular attention to the choice of thickness of the lens (see also: "Glasses thickness").
